GRACE RECOVERY EXPERIENCE
Managing a woman’s holistic recovery experience is part of every member’s program at Grace Recovery TX.
At Grace Recovery TX, each member is assigned a personal recovery coach.
Recovery coaches work closely with clinicians, therapists, family, community resources and the member, the recovery coaches at Grace to track progress, verify treatment plans are followed, and assure recovery goals are met.
A recovery coach can also help to ensure there are open channels of communication in place between everyone involved in a persons recovery, and will often step in when issues arise.
Perhaps most importantly, Grace recovery coaches deliver trusted guidance when a member is unsure of their path. Our coaches are passionate about empowering members to regain control of their lives and firmly believe that everyone is entitled to a positive, productive, and healthy life in recovery.
What are the Benefits of Having a Recovery Coach?
Each woman accepted into Grace Recovery TX receives one-on-one recovery coaching from one of Grace Recovery TX’s peer recovery coaches. Our coaches offer weekly meetings with Grace residents where they assist our women with establishing each area of their new sober lifestyle.
What we often see when women first move into our program is that they don’t know where to begin. Grace coaches start by identifying short and long term goals, present struggles and hurdles, hopes and goals, and of course, solutions when needed.
Oftentimes when a woman enters treatment, many things are still unknown at the time of discharge. Grace recovery coaches can assist and address each area of a woman’s life that requires guidance, assistance, and/or professional resources.

What Does a Recovery Coach Do?
A recovery coach essentially acts as a helpful support on a woman’s journey to recovery.
Utilizing both training and lived experience, recovery coaches truly understand what it feels like to be in the shoes of their clients, and possess the knowledge and tools necessary to help clients be successful.
Recovery coaches typically operate using a combination of training and lived experiences to help and guide others. A recovery coach is not a therapist, sponsor, or medical professional.
Our coaches are not concerned with the past. Unless trauma or past emotional struggles are blocking a client from making progress in their healing, Grace recovery coaches do not typically cover deep emotional issues in their sessions. If emotional issues become a barrier to a client’s treatment, a recovery coach can help to ensure the proper professionals are included in the treatment plan to assist in that area of their healing.
How Can a Recovery Coach Help Me?
When a woman enters sober living, she does so for a reason, typically stemming from difficulties with consistently making healthy, productive decisions for herself.
At Grace Recovery TX, we understand that our clients human and no one is perfect. The goal of our recovery coaches is simply to create a safe space for women to discuss challenges and worries that may be holding them back from moving forward in recovery.
Incidentally, we also know from experience that purpose and connection with others is key in recovery. Grace coaches are trained to help women focus on taking back control of their lives through finding a passion and purpose.
